Letter to my sister

My dear sister,

I write amidst the heat and mixed emotion of the night. Simply cannot sleep! There’s perhaps an hour’s distance between us, so imagine you too would know exactly what I am talking about and I can only pray you have managed to stay cool through it all? My body beginning to follow the tired mind, so won’t write you anything too lengthy for now. Just a wish to you for strength as I know you too face tough times. God says He would never dish out more than we are able of coping with, so rest assured in the safety net of his arms.
Thanks for the list of funny and interesting emails sent my way!

Sleep tight,
Love & hugs

Your little sister, Debbie xxxxx

"Always My Sister"-

You and I had been planted
We were the seeds
We became her girls
You came 1st ahead of me
Her blood travels through our veins
They are like tracks on our map
Many twists and turns in the roads
Two lives split into two directions
But will always return to the nest
Their home
Their roots
You will always be a sister
You will always be MY sister
And I love you

A poem for Kim-

Written for Kim-

“SISTER O SISTER”

Sister o Sister

I know each thought you think

Sister o Sister

I taste the salt that you drink

Together we share the blood of our mother

Two sisters, one love

For her, no other

Do you feel we have drifted?

Two ships lost out at sea

No anchor now holds us

We both sail aimlessly

Sister o Sister

Let’s not float further apart

Know that I need you

I speak from my heart

We cannot discard all we were taught

Such wisdom and much love

Are gifts given, not bought

I too feel frightened

What rules come with ‘grief?’

Simply follow your heart

That is my true belief

Sister o Sister

Mum was brave to the end

Her murmurs kept silent

So broken hearts would mend

Sister o Sister

Let us never lose touch

Sister o Sister

We owe her that much!

For my sister, Kim…
